Warning: Post Not About Junk.

I don't share a lot of personal life here for two reasons:

1.  Words usually fail me to really express what I mean.
2.  Blogging is a fun break from stress for me.

So today, I needed a fun break.

My two youngest daughters both have had multiple (my multiple, I mean a lot of) febrile seizures.   Atypical seizures requiring rectal valium to stop them.  They will out grow the seizures and we really thought maybe that both of them had out grown them. It had been a year and a half since the last one. This morning my little Nora had another one.  They both have colds so I was watching...but, watching doesn't change anything.  It still happened.  Watching just means you are stressed before it happens.  She is OK.  She will be OK.

They are with me or my husband all of the time because of this.  We had started leaving them a bit with siblings and began going on occasion as far as an hour away if they were with their brother or sister.
This is in part why junking, creating, and blogging are a big part of my life.  I can do it here at home. Or take them with me.

The line of rosaries in the photo came from the auction on Sunday.  They are really beautiful.  Seemed like a good photo for today.

I'd appreciate prayers for healing for my little gals and for peace for me, because I'm growing weary from "watching".

Thanks for listening.  Really.

  1. I'm sorry. Watching is exhausting. I took a minute to pray that God will grant you peace and rest today.

  2. I'll be praying for you all. I know how frightening it can be. My mom and her brother had them and my brother and I had them. It scared me so when I watched him have them. Then one of my sons had only one. I remember how nerve racking it was watching when he had any fever...sleeping with him...watching. Do they still give Phenobarb when they have an elevated temperature?

  3. I work in a high school health room and see the students and their parents coping with seizures - they are patient and loving. It sin't an easy thing but the love is always there...blessings to all of you. Occasionally - a post can reach out to people and let you and them know a humaness with all the trimmings on other days, Jennifer at least I home so when I'm opened up my heart

  4. Oh, Jill. I am so sorry. I can only imagine... there is nothing like the stress that hits the center of a parent's heart when something involves our children. I taught for a few years before heading over to the corporate world and worked for a while with children who had different types of seizure disorders. I handled it all in stride...and then our daughter had one. Game changed instantly. I will definitely lift you and your little angels up in prayer. Here's praying that the peace that passes all understanding be yours...Xo, Sue

  5. Jill, I am in prayer for you and your little ones. I'll be emailing you shortly,

  6. Sending all concerned my prayers. Hoping that these seizures are nearing their end.

  7. Hi Jill,
I'm sending prayers your way for you and your girls. It must be very difficult not knowing when or if the next seizure will occur.
    I'll be thinking of you.

  8. My prayers will be with both you and your daughters. God bless your family.

  9. I will certainly be saying a prayer for your little ones! I know they will outgrow it and be fine, just like you said!

  10. prayers being offered up for your little ones and you! (((hugs)))

  11. Oh Jill, My heart goes out to you and your husband. We understand the state of perpetual trepidation parents live in when their children are ill or prone to illness. I'm sending lots of healing energies into the Universe for your family; strength, peace and wellness.

  12. Jill, I am taking the Rosaries found at auction as a sign that God is with you, he always will be and that was his small gesture to show you! Prayers with you and yours!

  13. Jill, hopefully all is peaceful at your home by now. Love and prayers to you and your family.

  14. Sorry to hear about the seizures. I know how hard it is to see someone you love going through them, my brother had seizures too. Thanks for asking for prayer-I'm honored to pray for you and for your girls!
I've been praying for Garrison since I won the pendant-have you heard any updates? Has he been able to get his hearing aids?

Now when I look at the pendant, I'll remember to keep you and your girls in my prayers as well!

  15. Hugs and prayers to you, Jill! This is the kind of "junk" that we don't like. It just hurts a mommy's heart to watch a child suffer. My daughter has some "seizure-like" episodes. It is like the whole world comes to a stand still when they are happening and there is absolutely nothing you can do.

  16. I praying for you beautiful friend - and for your daughters - and always know: you are not watching alone.

  17. Even though we've never met, I feel I know you, Jill, at least a part of your creative side and I really enjoy your blog. My heart goes out to you and your babies. You and your family are on my prayer list. Many blessings to you for bravely sharing. The rosaries seem like reminders that God watches over us all.

  18. o my gosh.... what a trooper you are and those poor little girls....it sounds terrifying...hugs and prayers...

  19. May Our Lord Grant You Peace & Healing for Your Babes ~ I will continue to Pray.... xox

  20. Oh Jill. I didn't know. Now I'm praying for them too. And for your peace of mind. Sigh. This has to be very stressful for you. I cannot even imagine.
    Have a beautiful Sunday!
Karen ~ Some days are diamonds

  21. Watching a loved one suffer and being powerless to prevent it is exhausting... particularly so when it involves a child(ren). Our Family has a point of reference since we have raised... and are still raising... some Children with special needs. And it does get very tiring and stressful at times and you do need a break, a respite, an outlet... I completely understand... and Blogging is such a fun break from the stresses of Life, whatever they may be. Share any time... I believe it will help, people care and when they know they can intercede in Prayer... the Prayers of others avail much and I know it has often helped our Family to cope during the more difficult times. Our Prayers go out to you and your Family, may you have a Peace beyond all understanding and the strength and continued Hope for each day.
