Prior Lives Party

Lezlee at Prior Lives is hosting her monthly Prior Lives Party.  I'm joining up with my book file.  Certainly not an original idea, but it's new to me!

Robelyn had a tutorial on making one one her blog.  I knew it would take me awhile to get at it even as simple as it is.  Because, that's just how it is.

I stamped on tags to make my alphabetized tabs.  I decided to stamp on both sides so you could see the letter from both angles since the file is curved.  Little pieces of fibers, thread, and rick rack make me happy so, I put those on the tags too.

So, "What to file??", you may be thinking...  I think letters, numbers, words, quotes, etc. that I find as I look through vintage ephemera and find little bits and pieces that I want to save for future projects.

So, that's the plan.  May take a while to get to it....but in the mean time, I will enjoy the file even empty.  Because the patterns and lines the book pages create are quite lovely.

Check out Robelyn's directions here to make your own. And, please be sure to check out Lezlee's party here to see what everyone else has been up to!

This weekend is the big blog party "Where Bloggers Create"  and I'm joining in too.  I can't wait to get a peek into every one's  spaces!

All Together Now...."Aaaaaaahhhhhh"......

Is this the sweetest thing?!  Randy was out spraying poison ivy the other night and found this cute thing!  Of course we all went out to see...

When I tried to get a better picture and moved the stick...he/she was off and running.  Wobbly at first, and then made it far away from us.

We see deer out here often, but this is the first time we've seen this small of a fawn or could get this close to get a photo.

I do hope you all are having a great weekend!

Yellow in My Garden

My favorite color of flower is yellow, then comes white.  Most of the time.  Unless it's lillies.  Then white wins out.  Truth is, my favorite color of flower is anything that blooms for me.   And yellow reins right now!

Have a great week!

Vintage Black Friday

The French Cupboard hosts Vintage Black Friday on the first Friday of each month.  I'm excited to join up for the first time!

I got these glasses and the two bottom books at the last auction I attended.

They have been sitting around the last two weeks just waiting for their photo shoot.

This is my favorite vintage photo I own that sits on this book in my sewing room.

Honesty here:  I've never read Longfellow...but would like to. Probably never will.

This book is so fun to look through.

This is the cover of the Jane Eyre book.  It's beautiful.

I knew when I saw these at the auction, I was taking them home with me.  I have to say they are my favorite purchase in a long time.  I think they will now go to rest on Longfellow in my sewing room.  At least until they cry out to be photographed again.

Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful Vintage Black Friday posts over here!
