Junkin' Monday

I was able to go to the auction in town yesterday. (woohoo!) There was a lot of neat stuff there, and mostly I came home with vintage fabric, vintage clothes, books, and magazines. I was happy!

This piece is gorgeous.



And this upholstery fabric is similar to the chair I posted about here. I don't currently have a chair that needs it, but it will eventually find a home.



I have very rarely seen uncut vintage upholstery fabric.

And guess who I found out was bidding against me on this great find?! Cammie from Daffodowndilly's. Can you believe it? We had talked a couple of times (but hadn't met) about different things and she was going to come "shop" from me sometime. Well to make a long story short, it was hours after she was at the auction that I discovered she was there. She and her husband came to our house after the auction to finish filling their truck!! We had a really nice time, ordered pizza, and I picked her brain about the junkin' business. My daughter said it seemed like we had known each other for years the way we were chatting. Neither one of us really wanted a picture after a day at an auction so you only get the story!




Had to share one of the books I bought--My four year old is Audrey. Neat, huh?!

Junkin' Monday

I had about 15 minutes on Fri. in a new (to me) thrift store in Blair. This and a few pieces of silverware is all I walked away with. However, I am always excited to add a new tea cup to my growing collection.



She's pretty isn't she?



I think will start drinking from my odds and ends of cups soon. Besides making teacup bird feeders, I thought I'd show you what else I've done with my tea/coffee cups in my sewing room.



Behind the pictures, is an old crate that I've filled with cups to hold "what not"--supplies, this and that....



This is an old desk drawer that had dividers in it. Tipped on it's back side, it makes a perfect shelf to hold my odds and ends cups that I think are just so pretty.



It makes collecting "what-not" even that much more fun.



My little organizers make it easier to find those little pieces for a project. I have to admit though that it's hard to part with any of the little pieces as I like them so much in their little cup homes.
